Get the Job Done Right the First Time
There are thousands of “waterproofing” products out there, but when you need product that is guaranteed to work – permanently – then you need to do your homework. One size does not fit all, and it’s important to understand your particular concrete slab, the placement of the slab, what’s causing the moisture related problem, and which products can permanently solve the problem.
A skilled installer of waterproof membranes and concrete treatments is more times than not, essential. Hawk CFC have years of experience in the industrial flooring sector, we only use resin that we believe will perform and we simply do not compromise on quality. For a trusted installer, contact us today to discuss your options.
Concrete leaks can be caused by any of the following:
- Poorly established falls and pooling
- Highly porous concrete
- Subsurface issues
- Drains and poor sealing around the drain grates
What to Consider
When concrete has obvious moisture issues, often the problem is much larger than it first appears. Water ingress in concrete is known as concrete cancer; by the time it has made itself visible, the problem may have spread much further than what is showing on the surface. Concrete cancer is the rusting of the internal steel reinforcements, which swells up to four times its original size, causing a pressure build-up inside the concrete. Visible symptoms can include surface fretting, cracking or an orange, rusty deposit on the surface.
If left unaddressed for too long, concrete cancer becomes a major structural defect with the potential to de-stabilise the entire property. Any leaking or moisture-effected concrete floors should be waterproofed to stop the rusting process.
