ASC – Marine

When a tough solution is required.

ASC marine exists to build and maintain Australia’s front-line in Naval Defence. The facility in Western Australia is a modern, cutting edge Naval Shipyard. So when we were asked to upgrade the floor, we jumped at the challenge. Some of the very top priorities for ASC is safety and professionalism, needless to say HAWK CFC provided the right work place practices and ethics, to be considered for the job.

This rather large facility, is responsible for housing large naval vessels, such as submarines. The previous flooring was not meeting the safety standards required, within the facility. Our close consultation with ASC marine, meant that we could cater a specialised solution. Thus, installing a resin based flooring system that could deal with, not only keeping their staff safe, but providing a long lasting solution.

Some of the elements that had to be considered for this particular job included:

  • Regular exposure to sea water
  • Regular fork-lift traffic
  • High pedestrian traffic
  • Exposure to oils, lubricates and other mechanical fluids

The epoxy resin coating specified for this particular project, was a modified ERFLA RFSL system. This range of quality resins, provide industrial grade finishes, that are able to withstand the type of harsh environment found at ASC.
